We were affected by Hurricane Ike...We had a home with no power from Friday 9 pm to yesterday 5 pm! Just the little things we take for granted were impossible...
Have the first cup of coffee in the morning, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Throw food down the disposal, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Make a call on the cellular but phone not charged, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
wash a load of laundry, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Sit on your couch without sweating because oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Turn on the tv oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Have your child ask you 1000 times to watch a movie on the dvd only to say, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
Run the vacuum, oops, no power!!!!!!!!
COULD YOU DO IT???

I can commiserate...
2 winters ago, the north east had a really bad ice storm, I called it the ice tornado, because when it was done, all the tops of the trees were gone, and most others in our forests were weighed down with so much, they never stood straight again. Our power was out for seven days. Thank God for generators, but after day two, we had to send our kids to family to stay that had power. Had to throw away all of our food...boy that was tough.
Hope all goes back to normal for you sooner than later....Posted 09-22-2008 at 07:58 AM by poconoproud
