I've lost someone important.

For the past 5 1/2 years, I've been seeing an 80s cover band almost every week. I just found out today that the bass player drowned in a park very close to his house. He was missing for over 36 hours before his body was recovered Friday morning beside a creek.

Although I knew him only professionally, he was a vital part of the band. He and the singer would play off of each other constantly, and their chemistry is what made the band so successful. Matt was so funny and entertaining, and I'll miss him forever. The band (The Spazmatics) will never be the same without him.

I'm something of a weather nut, and when I posted in the Los Angeles forum last week about all of the rain we'd soon be having, I had no idea that same weather was going to take the life of someone so dear to me.

I know that often there's no rhyme or reason to things that happen in our lives, and that control is just an illusion, but I wasn't prepared for this! I never thought one of the band members would die so suddenly, before anyone had a chance to say goodbye, to video the very "last show", etc.

So, goodbye, Matt. RIP. A toast to you, and I know that you'll be rockin' in Heaven!

    People who never come back!

    Hi!
just went thru your post..n can undrstnd wt u must have felt at tht moment. But u know the worst things happen in our life when we are most unprepared....n on the more practical side....nobdy frst prepares onself for smthing bad to happen. The fact is... evry1 looses sm1 very special in his or her own life. And these losts can never be filled with nething. it's true tht some people never *** back bt wat remains forever is their memory and the show of life goes on with these remnants of memory alone. you said tht u knew the performer professionally only ,so though hurt, but u may carry on with your life. But God forbid!..when we loose someone very close to us then belv me life becomes incomplete and meaningless forever!
