My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

The best way to get out of a funk is to help others who are in more need. This way you'd be working shoulder-to-shoulder with other Christians to help those who truly are needy and have no options. Living in one of the wealthiest cities in the nation, across the border from one of the poorest countries in the world, it would make sense to go and help those less fortunate -- that way, you will see the gifts you have already received. If you won't volunteer to help others less needy, then maybe living in a poorer town (like one in the south if you plan to stay in the U.S.) might change your perspective. There are tons and tons of people out there just eeking by, and I think your perspective of San Diego is colored by its wealth. But I assure you, there are PLENTY of poor places in the U.S. who could use someone to help them -- and you might feel more at home, and find more people like yourself who see God first, and wealth second. Good luck.

Thanks for your well wishes Wisteria. I appreciate that.

If I knew of places where I could find other like minded Christians and had the means to go and join them I would fly out tomorrow on the nearest plane, train, bus, or hitch hike to get there.

For now...the Lord has me in San Diego and told me specifically to come here in a very direct way. I have no reason to doubt His leading in this regard and for the course of one entire year that I have been here He has confirmed His leading by providing for me every step of the way. Teaching me things that I could not have learned or learned well in any other way than by going through what I have gone through.

Well, for one thing, it is a glowing example of what the church is like.

Them giving you bits here and there is like when the Pharisee put in his "required" amount, and the woman put in ALL she had.

Hopefully, some day they will realize this harlotry, and repent. Because that is what it is, plain and simple. It may look good, but it is dead on the inside. She has sold herself out, and although they offer crumbs to the downtrodden, you still lay outside the gates.

I agree with your post, completely, and see it for what it is.

I'm glad someone else sees what I see and that I am not truly going wacko in my assessment of how shallow the love of the church in North American is. Like you said HotinAZ it is what it is and there is little that you and I or anyone can do about it other than to make sure that we ourselves are not walking in a similar shallowness.

But you know something? For me there was an even greater need and lesson for own life in God Himself allowing me to fall into need without that need being met in a way that would have been more in line with how He means the church to be.

Please see my latest post for that greater lesson that I learned today when I went to church. I will be posting it in a few minutes. It's a good one!
