Still Wanting Move To Virginia!

Posted 10-16-2008 at 06:26 AM by jsykes71

Howdy everyone! My wife and I are expecting our first baby Dec. 8. We are really, really excited. The only thing is, we do not want to raise the baby in California. I am able to relocate through work, and need some help. Here's what we're looking for:

Snow in the winter ( 4 actual seasons would be nice)
Great school systems

If anyone can recommend any cities in VA to me, I would greatly appreciate it. Grew up in TX, moved to CA when I was 20, and would love to live somewhere that has trees...and SNOW! :^D thanks!

Please do yourself a favor and check out Roanoke, we truly offer a bit of everything (well, not "big city") that a family could want. Safety, excellent schools, CHARM,great housing opportunites and jobs. I moved to Atlanta from Roanoke with two young children (years ago) and moved back "home" to give my children the safehaven which is Roanoke. We also have the incredible Smith Mtn Lake 45 minutes away! We have SOOO many charming places in VA it's mind boggling to begin to describe them all - however, Roanoke, I feel is a beautiful compelation! I am a Roanoke native and know this area as well as our surrounding areas well. If I can help in any way please let me know.
