Moving to Oahu

My family of four is moving to Oahu and we are looking for some advice on which part of the island to move to. We are interested in Kailua area and we are seeking any helpful advice on schools for our two boys age 6 and 10. We are planning on moving in January from California and we are getting zero responses from anybody on Craigslist. We have searched for homes to rent and not one person has responded. So if anyone has a few minutes of time please ease our minds! We are also attending Calvary Chapel and would appreciate any info on the Calvary chapel in Kailua? Thanks!!!

Hi there! I currently live in Oahu (also originally from California) and I would be more than happy to help you with anything you need!
You really need to know where you will be working on the Island when considering where to move! All of your plans will revolve around the traffic on the Island. It is worst than LA. Kailua is perfect! There is rarely traffic in and our of the town and the schools and family life is incredible. However, as your finding, the housing is in high demand. I would stick with Craigslist or the Honolulu advertiser online. You'll find something eventually! Dont give up! Let me know if you need anything else!Posted 11-28-2008 at 07:30 PM by ktbells -
Aloha....I also need some advice. I am planning to relocate to oahu in aug 2009, with my 15 year old daughter in tow. My oldest daughter, her navy husband and 2 grand-daughters are to be stationed there for 3-4 years and I cant bare to not see them....also thought it would be a nice adventure. I am an LPN research shows a pay scale of around 20-25 an hour. I know my limit w.rent is 1500 per month poss. 1800 if utilities are included(if i get paid 23-24 an hour). If there are any LPN's who live in Oahu please, please contact me .........I need to know what the demand is and if my hourly pay research is correct. I also need to know what parts to live in. thank you.......Mahalo ( i hope I got that right, lol) ..............oh and BTW we are white... are we going to be ok? or is it way too dangerous for us white folks to be there? I would like to know that my 15 year old is going to be ok.
