Best place to live in Califonia or Nevada????

I am planning on moving to ethier Califorina or Nevada in about 7 months. I was wondering where is there a good job market? I have a BS in psychology. I want to move to a place that has a good job market, without high housing costs. Any suggestions? Looking more central Califorina, but can't figure out a good place that's not crazy expensive. Thanks to anyone who can hep. :)
