Fireside Chat #1

Posted 11-04-2008 at 01:23 PM by Pandamonium

Good Evening Friends,

I have no intention of sticking to the original Fireside Chats, but I do like the name. It is much better than the Second Glass of Wine Chats. I have decided to give blogging a whirl because I can.

This evening, however, I will be completely involved in the election night party. I am making pastitsio. There will also be a Californian merlot called Bohemian Highway. I am not Greek, Bohemian or Californian.

Before I go, I would like to add a little something on the education of Americans. I, personally, will not be happy until a statistics 101 class will be beaten into every individual. How many times do we run across something that has increased over 100%? Not possible. There are things that cannot be measured and emotions are one of them. Online surveys are not an accurate indication of anything.

So, in honor of the day, I would like to further pervert a West African saying, Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far-ther faster after you beat the statistics into them.
