I guess the headline says it all, but for those who would like to read more . . .

I find this outrageous . . . and am incensed that the money people give to UW would be diluted this much by inappropriate salaries.
So that is my RIP OFF REPORT of the day. Where is Mike Wallace when you need him?????

Good ol' Gracie already was making as much as two Federal Cabinet level positions. The pension addition was just over the top. Just how many years did she do this? Certainly not for the standard 30 years which most of us have to work to qualify. ani- When I first started reading that story, I thought it was the "national headquarters job". Then, when I read it was just Cornelius and the surrounding area, I was floored! I guess maybe all the state employees, might want to use her deal as a template when they ask for benefit packages! LOL! Love your blog! I just don't have that much to write about, or I'd start one!

Thanks Ani for keeping us "out-of-towners" in the loop! This is crazy. I used to work in the non-profit sector (recovering lib?) loooooooong ago and would have never guessed this.Posted 07-02-2008 at 07:11 PM by PeytonC

Hey, Em and Peyton! So glad you stopped in. This situation really is one of the most outrageous I have run across as far as Executive compensation - and I work with execs and believe in excellent compensation for highly effective leaders. This, however, is past egregious and the explanations from UW board members . . . well . . . just not buying it!!!! (and sure as heck won't be contributing to it, either!)Posted 07-14-2008 at 04:07 PM by anifani821

This is not new for them. I find other ways to help out because even back in the 60's when the min wage was $1.70 the head man got $75,000 a year. This should be a volunteer post if they can't get a good leader for at least an upper middle class salary. It's not that UW does not do good, it's just such so much is lost in admin. My 2¢.Posted 07-22-2008 at 09:31 AM by Nomadicus
