Windmill Palms

Posted 12-06-2008 at 07:44 AM by Roxiet

I live in Amarillo, Texas. I think zone 7?
I bought 3 windmill palms from a nursery in Ga. They are suppost to be 5 years old. They range in 3 to 4 1/2 feet tall. The low temp here at night is getting to be below 32F. Should I plant them outside or pot them and keep inside? We just sodded our yard and the sprinklers come on several times aday. There is usually ice on the grass in the AM. I really don't know anything about palms. How to plant, soil, protection from cold weather, watering. Any help would be great!
Thanks.
