The Dangers Of Preterism!
This message from the apostle Paul back in the days of ancient Preterism still applies for modern Preterism too!
"Avoid godless, foolish discussions that lead to more and more ungodliness. This kind of talk spreads like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are examples of this. They have left the path of truth, preaching the lie that the resurrection of the dead had already occurred; and they have undermined the faith of some." (2 Timothy 2:16-18, NLT)
The message of Preterism can destroy our faith by leaving the path of truth and embracing a lie that the resurrection has already happened! This kind of message can spread like spiritual cancer that leads to godless and foolish discussions and into more ungodliness. The ancient Preterists, Hymenaeus and Philetus are examples of this! Let's learn from these passages of Scripture that Paul gave unto Timothy and for the rest of the Body of Christ, his readers throughout the ages.
Besides the teachings from the apostle Paul, the fruit of Preterism leads to putting down our spiritual guard for what's coming in the future of the Great Tribulation and the Persecution by the Anti-Christ. Preterism preaches that the Tribulation and Persecution has already happened to include the resurrection of the dead before the 1st Century has ended! With this thought in mind, this message becomes an "ear-tickling" doctrine like Pretribulationism that puts our spirits and minds at ease with no spiritual alertness & preparedness of the end-times. All that will be left is getting devoured from the Anti-Christ while being spiritually blind to the time of the wrath of Satan! A spiritual deception, indeed, a falling away from the faith!...
