Relocating to Greenville, NC

My husband and I will be relocating to the Greenville, NC area in January. I am leary about this....I don't know much about the area. Schools are a concern for me, because we have two sons (15 and 10). I want to live in a safe place with good schools. My husbands job is the reason we are relocating commuting 20 miles outside of the Greenville are is ok. My daughter may be attending ECU this fall or University of Alabama. She hasn't made a decision yet. We have heard that ECU is a party school. I am not happy about that, I do expect some partying to go on all school campuses, but everyone I have talked to has said it is a good school but it is labeled a party school. We want to rent for a while until we are comfortable with the right home in the right area. Anyone have any advice for me as you can see I am nervous about the move we currently live in Charlotte, NC. I do have to say that the idea of living in a smaller community is just what we are looking for to enjoy our retirement years, even though we are in our 40s. Sorry so wordy but I do have alot of questions and feel I need as much information as possible.
