It's up to us to fix this mess (and a new TV show)

Posted 10-09-2011 at 09:36 AM by rghneal

First; DIY Network, Oct 16th (and other dates in Oct you can find on their website) at 11pm. I'll be on a new show called Haunted House for Sale! Isn't that hilarious. I'll also have it posted on my website once I get the disc. Even though I have no idea how the edits will leave the show looking I know it was fun to shoot and ought to be a blast...maybe even a little scary too. Anyhow, DVR it or get someone you know to and let me know what you think. You can also see more on the subject on my blog:

Google recently shared with me that quite a few folks had looked at my blog here. I was a little surprised I guess because I'm just getting used to how all this technology works. I would love to find a course that covers building websites in Wordpress, optimization, monetization, and even coloration for that matter. But all that aside I'm glad if there's anything here someone wants to read.
If real estate was hard before...well...it's become almost impossible. Nice part is that people are a little more humble and a little less entitled. Hard to put that in better words but everything that slaps us down typically lifts us up in some other way. Figuring that out can be the hard part.

But what are we going to do about that? About the lifting ourselves back up part. Boy, express your opinion and you might just get slapped down again but isn't it the expression part what we're about. The truth is that I don't care what your opinion is as long as you have one!!

So what's everyone's opinion? Here's mine. Ready. Don't let anyone in Congress EVER serve more than two terms. Don't need to change the law just vote them out. After the first term and all those luncheons, dinners, and weekend trips to the Hamptons they're already getting to like the life style and attention. I'm sure it's downright intoxicating don't you think? Might be hard for any of us to wave goodbye. But that's not what they're there to do. They aren't there to get great jobs for their retirements, they aren't there to live it up...they've been blessed with good self-esteems, the gift of gab, the right support from family and friends, or just a ton of drive and ambition. Great. That's why they're there then. And what's the other reason? The one that got them there to begin with - helping all the people that don't have those things and can't do it for themselves!! That's it. That's the truth. We can't all run so we have to let the people who can and will take the reins.

Now what happens when they get spoiled by all the attention and ease. Some probably stay true to their good intentions...most don't and the way to fix that is to make sure they don't have too much time there to screw things up.

When people put themselves in those positions based on the goodwill and trust of others and don't stay true to that they are bad people and should leave on their own accords but they don't...they have to be pushed out and it's up to us to do that. If you don't like what's happening then you and all the people you know should be talking about it and deciding what to do. In the end, it's not their faults, it's ours.

I can only encourage you to do one thing, something! If you don't like what you have work to change it. Pick up a picket sign, help a campaign, whatever. There will always be someone who wants to be in those positions so go find the one that makes you believe he or she has the best intentions, the best ethics, and the most skill and drive for getting the job done and you'll have made the best decision you can.

In the meantime, if anyone you've voted for, I don't care what side, isn't cooperating with everyone else then he/she is not trying hard enough. No on guaranteed that their jobs would be easy or fun. No one promised them anything like that. They don't have to enjoy themselves but they do have to get something accomplished. If someone you've voted for has been in there for one term and isn't working night and day to fix this disaster we are in then they need to GO! Be confident, stick to your guns, be strong, and get a grip. We're going down folks and the only way we are going to go down any farther is by changing the guard. New Blood! New ideas! New motivation! If they think they've got two tries and they're out for good what do you want to bet they'll try a little harder.
After all, when they fail they've failed on a colossal scale. That's not a memory I want to take with me to the Nursing Home and into eternity. If we limit their chances to fail the likelihood is a lot greater that they'll work harder to succeed. Stop treating them like bosses and start treating them like the employees they are!

Those are my thoughts anyway.

And what's all that got to do with real estate? What isn't about real estate in the United States of America? Let's make Washington accountable for its actions and real estate will naturally take it's place as once again being the greatest privilege of the free world! Ownership of property is the greatest gift we have and the one we must preserve at all costs.

Finally, on Oct 16th at 10pm on DIY Network (and there are other dates if you visit the DIY Network website) you'll see me on a new show called Haunted House for Sale! It's all about what you should think about when you're looking at an Historic Home which may have a little more color than usual. The show ought to be a blast (even though after edits you have no idea if the show will resemble the shoot).

Happy Halloween everyone...first and foremost be safe and show someone you care.
