Houston Misc Info

Posted 01-01-2009 at 08:46 AM by nativehoustonian1

This blog is about miscellaneous information that native Houstonians know that outsiders may not.

For example:
People who live in Houston are called Houstonians. NOT Houston-ites, Houston-ers, etc.

Street names are also frequently mis-pronounced by non-natives.
Kuykendahl Road is pronounced "kirk-in-doll"

Can you think of anything like these that really bugs you? I'd like to hear from you.:ok:

y'all = contraction of you all

    can mean
    you the individual
you and/or anyone else you may designate
    you and your family
    everybody in a group
