My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego |
List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post
. Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.
I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.
Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.
Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).
And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me
)...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!
Thanks.
Carlos
PS. If you want to follow my blog such that you will get an email when I write new posts you can subscribe to my blog.

My first blog entry...
Posted 01-07-2009 at 04:21 PM by carlos123
I will be trying my hand at this blog thingy here. I may or may not continue it as I hope to eventually start my own blog at my own web site. But for now...a blog...even a blog here...is better than no blog
.
For anyone reading this...what I blog about will mostly be oriented around how the Lord (I am a Christian) provides for me as I get situated in San Diego.
This blog will not be a sanitized, everything is right with me and world type of blog. I will say what I really feel and what I really think and leave it at that.
If anyone is interested in continuing to read entries from me...please PM (private message or direct message I think it's called here) and let me know as I may discontinue blogging here at any time (to continue on my own blog elsewhere).
Enough for the intro...now on to the meat of today's entry
.
Today I find myself with less than $10 of discretionary money to my name. I have about $2.50 on my debit card, another $2 or so in change, and about $22 Canadian in a debit card I brought with me from Canada (but most of that will be used up in a few days to pay for my window cleaning business toll-free phone number which I have to maintain).
I have a place to stay...I am staying in a travel trailer parked in someone' s back yard in exchange for 10 hours of computer related work for my first month. I have hot water for shower (though the propane may not last too long such that I will have to refill it at my own cost), free broadband wireless internet, a desk, chair, and a comfortable bed.
But I don't feel safe about drinking the water which first runs through a regular hose from the house into a holding tank on the trailer. So I am buying my own.
Food wise, I had a hamburger today and some leftover cereal with no milk.
I don't have enough cash to get anywhere by bus.
I am not saying all the above so that someone will feel pity for me and give me some money. I say what I have to paint an accurate picture of my circumstances such that when God provides for me, one's will hopefully come to see His living reality through what I experience.
I have been at this point lots of times in the past where I had almost no money left and literally so. But God has ALWAYS provided for me in some way and I believe that He will provide for me still.
God's provision for me has not involved depending on the government for a welfare handout, going to soup kitchens for ongoing free food without working for it, begging, or panhandling. I do not personally believe that such things glorify the living God as the provider that He is.
This blog will help me write about my experiences with the living God as they happen. Something I have not done much of in the past. Which I regret because many circumstances in my past were as bad or even worse than the one in which I find myself today...yet the end result was that God provided for me. Such things are an encouragement for others and even for me in recalling the ways in which God can provide for those who trust in Him through Jesus Christ and put Him first in their lives. I am only sorry that I never adequately recorded what happened in the past.
Hopefully that will change with this blog
.
When I say that my circumstances are bad, I do not mean that they are bad in and of themselves. For in truth...I have food to eat and more than adequate shelter over my head. It's the potential for bad that makes my circumstances "bad". With less than $10 of discretionary income left to my name in San Diego...well...it will take no less a miracle than in times past for God to provide for me still. Without reliance on food kitchens, begging, panhandling, and the like.
That's it for today I think. I am heading out the door to go do some window cleaning solicitation. I will have to walk around since I don't have enough to get a bus pass today.
May the Lord do in and through this blog and my life what is pleasing in His sight.

Carlos, PM me your address and I will send you a check for some money.. or else put it on your blog. Maybe there are some other Christians, such as you and I, who will follow the Lord's commandments... and if you are a Christian, reader, you know what those commandments are.
I, for one, believe you and your situation .. also, I am one who lived in Escondido, San Marcos, Fallbrook, Vista; miss San Diego County tremendously.Posted 01-12-2009 at 09:54 AM by Summertime -
Carlos, I did not receive an email as I do not give that option on this board.. just send/write a Direct Message.
Ooops.. just went into my
SETTINGS and that is an old email address which
I discontinued.. so your email will bounce back to you.
I don't have an email contact option for this board.
I have been to the PO already today so .. if you do want me to follow through, I will be out again tomorrow.Posted 01-12-2009 at 01:55 PM by Summertime

Hi Summertime...
Oops! Didn't mean for you to see what I posted on the thread before you got my email.
I will resend the email I sent you as a PM if and when it shows up. It seesm to have been swallowed up into Internet la la land. City-data did not keep a copy of it and it has not bounced back to me. I will re-write it again when I get the chance Summertime.
Thanks for letting me know.Posted 01-12-2009 at 08:53 PM by carlos123
