My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

God provides for me once again!

Well...after I wrote my first blog entry here I prayed and went out looking for window cleaning work.

Mind you...I did not have enough for a bus pass and all I had been able to eat today was a little bit of left over cereal without milk and a big Burger from Jack in the Box down the street. The only chance I had of getting enough money to get a bus pass and eat something more was to walk around and find some immediate window cleaning work. So I started walking. Praying and hoping that somebody would give me some work.

I was confident that the Lord would provide for me and set out in faith.

Well...He did! Less than half an hour into my walk I stopped at a real estate company who decided to have me clean their windows for $25!!

I did not have my window cleaning equipment with me and they were not going to be around past 6:00 PM (it was about 4:15 PM when I got the job). So I practically ran back home, got my stuff, and went back. Worked from a few minutes past 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Then got paid!

Praise God!! Like ALWAYS He provided for me once again.

Some might say that it was faith by itself that enabled me to believe, get out there, and find something.

But I say this...

While faith in faith may indeed get someone to do something they would otherwise not do...the end result is out of my hands. In other words, no matter how much I believe...my positive thinking belief as some might view it, will not result in the things happening to me that have happened.

Among things that have happened to me in the past are the following:

The police stopped me once for not having any rear lights on my truck at all (something I did not realize by the way). They could have towed me. I even resisted the policeman looking inside my truck just because he was curious. I had prayed beforehand that God's will would be done when I saw the lights in my rear view mirror and, instead of towing my truck...the police actually escorted me to the laundromat where I was headed and allowed me to fix my lighting system right there! Without a ticket. At the time I had been living in my truck and could have lost my "home". Right there on the spot. God was merciful to me that day.

Another time I was in a restaurant and heard someone next to me say "Praise the Lord". Well...I eventually asked them if they were Christians and on finding out that they were, I explained that I was moving to San Diego and was trying to find Christians to sell my stuff to. Hoping that they would be willing to give me a fair price for what I had. We talked a bit more and as one guy was getting up to leave, he extended his hand to shake mine, and within his hand there was some money.

When I saw that...I immediately tried to give it back and told him that I had not said anything I said to get money from him. He proceeded to tell me that he was giving me that money because the Lord had told him to give it to me...and that if he didn't that he would be disobeying God.

He left and as I opened my hand I expected to find a $20 bill or something similar. Instead he had left $110 in my hand!!

I had not, in any way, shape, or form asked for money but God only knew how much I needed that money.

One more...

My truck got hit a couple of months before I left Edmonton to come to San Diego. At the time I could not see for the life of me how that would work out for my best but, I thanked God and didn't do much with it. I had been hit before and most insurance companies wouldn't give me more than $500 for my truck as a total write off.

Well...the insurance company of the guy that hit me ended up giving me $1050.00 for my non-functional piece of junk truck. It had completely broken down on me and I had been sleeping in it, where it broke down for a few weeks. The adjuster that came out to look at my truck was very surprised that the claims representative had set up an appointment to have him come out and see my truck so quickly. At the time I was trying to fly out to San Diego on Sunday and had the $1050.00 check in my hand on Friday. The bank decided to cash it for me and I was able to make one last bill payment on Sunday with that money.

Though the flight on Sunday did not work out I was eventually able to use that money to come to San Diego.

On and on...these kinds of circumstances have happened to me. Yes...to some degree positive thinking and faith in faith might have gotten me motivated to do some things. But no such thing would have motivated the police to let me keep my truck and escort me to the laundromat, motivated the one gentleman to give me $110 of his own money, and worked out the details so quickly to allow me to get paid the insurance payment when I did.

That was God, the living God. Working on my behalf!

Stay tuned for more as the living God ends up proving Himself real through my life...even here in San Diego. Just as He proved Himself real to me in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Thanks Miss Blue. Please pray for this blog. That the Lord would use it to help me express His living reality to those who don't know Him and to encourage any Christians stopping by to read it.
