Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Time Once Again For The Annual Super Bowl Frenzy

Posted 02-04-2012 at 07:20 PM by case44

I've got stuff in the freezer and the fridge because I simply have decided not to order pizza. I'll be alone after work on Sunday, so what does it matter? And wherever you are, it's about Super Bowl time.

The New England Patriots. The New York Giants. Same stage, one champion. All or nothing. And it's ours on Sunday night on a TV near us. We'll have Al and Cris call the game on NBC, and all the bells and whistles that one could ever ask for will be right there, live from Indianapolis. And, of course, what Super Bowl would be complete without the commercials? You'll see some new, creative commercials specifically made for this very day, many of which will only appear on your set for one time. Thanks largely to YouTube and the Internet, we can always go back and watch the ones you and I might have missed in case we had to answer the phone or use the restroom.

Enjoy the game, everyone. Prediction: Pats 23, Giants 20.

It seems like every year, some of the commercials are great, while others leave the viewers preferring to undergo the subject matter of your previous post. Oh well.

Was it Super Bowl today? After watch my disappointing team, the 49ers, give away what should have been a sure trip to playing the at the Super Bowl. I'll give the 49ers credit for giving everyone an exciting game all the way up to almost the end, but we gave them the game instead. Hell, we practically walked away when we went into overtime, just so they could score as much as possible before the clock ran out. At least that one mistake made by one of the 49ers, who I shall not specifically name, cause the whole world knows who that is already, will never be forgotten. He blew it by not paying attention and letting the darn ball hit his knee. Like I said, it will go down in history as the play they call, "wounded knee" OUCH!!! That implies enough to not say any more about the subject.....
