My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

    Halleluia,

He works in lives; He is the same yesterday, today,
    and tomorrow.

What a testimony to His faithfulness towards those
    who love Him.

I did post a paraphrased scripture here, as a comment,
but the label says "comments 0"

which may mean it never passed screening.

So, in secular terms, Carlos, 'good going.'

    Thanks for the encouragement Summertime!

Regarding what you asked Naomi...about whether GOD was really responsible for all my "luck".

It is a matter of faith to believe that God was the one who provided for me. And it is a matter of faith to believe that He will continue to do so.

That faith...by itself...cannot influence things beyond my control. It cannot influence how much a pawn shop gives me for my camera, or whether a gift certificate given to me a month ago meets my need today, and other such things.

It is faith IN God that allows the Lord to act on my behalf and to arrange my circumstances in such a way that ultimately, my needs are met, and He receives the greater glory for having met them.

It would be one thing Naomi to have something that seems lucky happen to me once or twice but, when such things happen over and over and over again. Such that my needs are provided for...over and over and over again. What is one to make of that?

It takes more faith to believe that an unending stream of "luck" happened by chance than to believe that the unseen God of the Bible has worked on my behalf.

It all boils down to whether we believe what the Bible says about God and choose to act on it by faith.

There is ample evidence...logical, historiical, and otherwise...to suggest that what the Bible says is true. But that's not enough to experience the living God at work in our lives. We can intellectually agree to the things the Bible says as being true...without ever experiencing God for ourselves. It's only when we make a choice of the will to live and act as though what the Bible says really is true...that we come to experience the living God in our daily lives. That's what true faith in God is. Putting our belief into practice by living it out.

I started this blog in the hopes that others, both Christians and non-Christians, might see God through His daily interactions with me as I bring my daily needs before Him.

I am not perfect in my faith. Far from it. But I have seen things that one might associate with "luck" happen far too often to believe that my needs continue to be provided just by chance.

Over and over and over again...I have found myself at the end of my rope so to speak, without a clue as to how in the world I am going to get out of a jam I find myself in, only to have a way open up for me as I pray and look to the Lord to provide for me.

And though...I have in times past oftentimes gotten angry and upset, sulked, or otherwise acted in a way that I should not have...I have seen the Lord work such things slowly but surely out of my life...such that today I can maintain a much more stable faith despite some very trying circumstances.

I am learning to experience comfort and peace when outwardly I should be pulling my hair out . I am not there yet in terms of always experiencing peace and comfort but I have grown a great deal over how I used to react.

And that is a wonderful thing. To be able to have a measure of peace beyond what one would naturaly expect, in very trying circumstances. God only knows how much we will need to walk in peace in the days to come.

The Bible is clear in saying that things will get much, much worse...before they get better when the Lord returns for those who are His own.
