I thought a different perception would be good. A change of pace. Instead of the horror stories or pros and cons of moving to Hawa'ii. How about the perceptions of ppl who lived or where raised(born in Hawa'ii) Then moved to the mainland? Was it difficult?

I was raised in Hawa'ii during the 70s and very early 80s. To me the transition was very hard. Whole different world. I was a kid. Public school was hard in the mainland, here was some issues.

1. I spoke pidgin english, which got me into alot of trouble with teachers etc. (to the point they thought and testted me for learning disibilies lol, not realising that im from Hawa'ii and this is normal) It took along time before one principal finally made the connection after research.

2. It was common for kids in school to rough house(play fighting, etc.) And copy kikaida or other martial arts stars in the 70s in Hawa'ii. When i moved to mainland schools, administrators freaked out! Your kid is violent and has behavior issues!

( Cont from pg1)
and i think i am in major trouble lol. For me it just happened a week ago. And i think im totally headover heels in love with Hapa(asian and mixed asians) Wahine(girls or wemon). Ive always have known that they are Nani(cute, pretty, etc) living in Hawa'ii there are alot! But about a week ago i have noticed them more! Is it possible to be in love with a whole race? Every Hapa girl i see now makes my heart beat faster. Im a rational middle age man! When i lived in Hawa'ii my first girlfriend was a japanese hapa. I didn't last long, her ohana moved back to japan. But the time we spent together was great, she was quiet, kind, and very nani. Her ohana treatted me very good. They would invite me to there home for dinner alot, and i was friends with her brother. Ever since i moved to the mainland, i have only dated haole girls and native american girls, maybe because in portland there wasnt alot of asians in the past? Ive noticed the eyes more now and the long black hair and the fountain of youth
