Why you should keep out of texas

I am from Wisconsin and let me just tell you how bad my experience here in Arlington has been in the past year. I came here in spring of 2012 and from there on it has been one uphill battle from finding decent employment to finding a nice liveable apartment, my experience has been horrid. I would not refer my worst enemy here, to the non-existent public transportation, to the deplorable apartment complexes and let me not mention the lack of good paying jobs. From the long distances you have to commute in stand still traffic just to get to and from a job that doesn't compensate you fairly enough for the hassle of getting to and from work, but hey a job is a job right. Before you decide to relocate to TEXAS please do your research and get all the facts.:hamd: PS as far as Governor Rick Perry saying new jobs in Texas has been created 60% of the the new jobs created are starting at or below minimum wage.

First of all, I am very sorry that your experience in the brief time you've spent in Texas has been rough. Getting a job in any state depends on what you know how to do and what your skill level is, along with experience. For the most part, we do have a thriving economy in our state and it happens to be better than most, and not all of it is just low paying jobs. There is a lot of traffic, but that's how it is when lots of folks move here with great opportunities and when people from other places travel here. And no state is perfect, no matter how green we think the grass is going in.

I wish you all the best no matter where you decide to go. Not every place is for everybody, and if you do decide to leave Texas, well, so be it. That's up to you. I've lived in Texas my entire life and wouldn't imagine living anyplace else. I'm sorry things didn't work out for you, and I wish there'd still be a way for some of us here to help you. However, I'd have to respectfully disagree with some of your opinions and comments, as some are just blanket statements and knee-jerk reactions based only on what little you've seen here.

We have a Texas forum (with Dallas and Fort Worth as subforums) and there are plenty of people who frequent those who certainly can offer you some advice and help with what it is you might be looking for. At least, give that a chance before you make a decision you'll regret later.
