Moving from Oahu, Hawaii to the Mainland

Aloha All,
I am looking to move to the mainland any one of these cities and states:
Arizona (Flagstaff or Sedona)
North Dakota (Bizmark, Fargo, or Grand Forks)
South Dakota (any city not sure at this point)
Oregon (any city not sure at this point)
Trying to stay away from California and Florida because of high cost of living.
I am currently saving money for this move, but need to know should we just move and ship our cars, personal goods etc. or first look for a job then relocate. I am saving enough money for us to survive for at least six months up there. We are planning to move up after my son graduates from high school next year, so we have time to plan things out.
There will be myself, my husband, and my 18 year old son. He is planning to go to college first before choosing a career.
Any assistance would be great.
