A Few Other Museums in Austin (I'm particularly fond of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, but you'd likely want to go to that in fall or spring given that you don't like the heat - it IS a garden)

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (again, go in spring or fall due to your heat aversion)

Paramount Theater (I've been to everything from old movies to musical concerts to lectures there)

Austin Nature Center

Peter Pan Mini Golf

That's in addition to, of course, movies, restaurants, and the innumerable festivals in the area, but I could be linking to things to do all day.
