A Broken Dream

Here is a poem I wrote about a girl.... The poem is called "A Broken Dream"
A Broken Dream
My heart is poisoned for your love
Oh, how I suffer and grieve, as my love for you has no reprieve!
And I wither away, like the green grass on a scorching summer day
You were the dew on my blades
But now I am parched and wither in decay!
I have no soul left in me
Sadness and despair, all my hopes left in tears
And my heart you have stole, like the brigand you rob and leave me to die alone
You were to me a forest spring
But now you are mirage in the desert I loathe to see!
It was you for whom I yearned!
Oh, how my passion and desire burn for you like a fire
And I remember your eyes, beaming at me like the moon over the starry skies.
You were a flowered meadow that was so serene
But now you are nothing but a broken dream!
Consumed by the shadows of the fading light
In the darkness of the winter night,
There lies dead, the spring flower by the frozen stream
She was nothing but a broken dream
Oh, she has gone to a land so far away, never to be seen again!
