That just irks me to no end when the rest of us follow the rules . You would hope that the leader saying something to them would mean something but again they do the same thing over and over again . Not to mention that this to me would be considered a sign of disrespect to the hostess because then she has to find glasses enough for everyone . Has anyone been in such a situation and if so did you say anything ? I have heard that some of the others in the group are thinking about quiting because of this issue ..
Get over it. People are late sometimes and will continue to be so until the end of time. Cut them out of your life now if you can. As a "latey" i can tell you that most would appreciate that action over the usual passive aggressive BS.

My hunch is that the reason this woman showed no remorse is that she has resigned herself that she has time management problems, a sleep disorder, and/or something else that makes her late all the time. (And no, lateness is not "selfish" it's much more complicated than that as I have on my blog here if interested in learning as opposed to complaining.)

Honestly, it's emotionally exhausting being late all the time. Its not a conscious choice that we make. After a while, you chose to let the negativity bother you or you chose to ignore it.

There are three types of people when it comes to this issue: "laties", crotchety judgementalists and the tolerant. Stick with the crotchety crowd if unable to be tolerant. I would take "too late" or "early" any day over crotchety, judgmental and intolerant.

What I don't understand is why you didn't just start without her while she went to get cups?

I thought this was going to be a REAL debate about entitlement and not just one aspect of *perceived entitlement* by clock natzis. This belongs in the "relationship" thread. I think they are overdue for another "'late bashing' b*tch fest." There hasn't been one since *gasp* April! Oh noeses!!
