Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken.
Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

The Right Place, But The Wrong Time? Or Perhaps, It's....

Seemingly, every time I get the itch to write, I'm in the wrong place. I wouldn't be at my computer, or I'm in my car in the middle of somewhere, or eating in some restaurant when I'd get an idea for a blog, but am nowhere near a place to write ideas down.
Ideas have been captured on to a napkin or a piece of scratch paper. That's sometimes. Other times? I had an idea (I mean, a really good idea) in the wrong place and would wind up losing it eventually, never to come back to my mind. It's tough when you can't always be next to a writing utensil or a good source to put your thoughts on. I've even been in the shower with a good idea, and two minutes later, I grab my towel and...............the thought is suddenly gone!
Yeah, it's frustrating sometimes. I can't always type stuff up every day, but it seems that there is something to needs to get said, and it's not there. Other days, well, there are other things going on in my life and I can't be on City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive. Many of you, I'm sure, have had days like that. With me, it's almost like a bug akin to the plague. And there are times I'd write some thoughts down and stash them somewhere where I can't get to them.
Anything's better than nothing at some point. If the last three paragraphs are any indication, then I guess I did pretty well today.
