Power!

1 Corinthians 4:20 - For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. - When the apostle Paul wrote this he was trying to establish a church in a city called Corinth, that was located in the country of Greece. I think the point Paul is trying to make here is that the kingdom of God is not just an idea, a philosophy or something to be talked about, but an actual existing thing with power that was available to the people of Corinth. It's the same thing for us today. Often we forget that the kingdom of God is a real thing available to us and all we have to do to come to him is tell him and he'll take it from there because even when we try our hardest we aren't capable of it and need his help. But God doesn't force anyone to come to him but leaves the choice up to us. It's like if we were hungry and a friend offered us a candy bar. We all know that we are free to accept or reject it. But God is offering us much more than a candy bar. He offers us eternal life through his son Jesus Christ and tells us in his word to choose life - (Deuteronomy 30:19 ...Now choose life...) - and we are free to accept or reject it, just like the people of Corinth. What About Jesus?
