Welcome To Case's Column

Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.

In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.

Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!

Regards,

Case44 Celebrates Ten Years As A City-Data Member

Posted 08-04-2017 at 04:02 PM by case44

Ladies and gentlemen, I have reached a significant milestone right here on City-Data, where it's great to be alive. Hard to believe, but that time is now upon us.

This C-D journey began on August 4, 2007, where I was intrigued by a Google search for Interstate 44 and the discussion around possibly extending the road past its southern terminus in Wichita Falls, Texas. I came upon this website because I wanted to participate in some discussion regarding that subject matter. My mind was made up to join this site, and the rest, they say, is history. I've become a lot more involved since the day I joined. As you can see, I am a Texas roads fanatic and an interstate guru. I am also a classic country music lover and connoisseur. For ten years, I have been around to entertain, to inspire, to inform, to put smiles on faces, to make you laugh, to (unintentionally) put frowns on those who disagree with my subject matter at hand or the thoughts thereof, and, more than anything, to make you think. I'm just the guy that has been in your corner all these years. Ten of them. Lots of posts and a whole slew of memories.

For nine of those years, you've seen me put my thoughts on your computer screen in the cozy arcade called the Blog Pages, and that's because paper is boring. You have sure seen my offerings, in addition to the potpourri of thoughts shared by our other faithful writers here. And for the last eight years, I have been active on our Music forums, spending precious time sharing wonderful music with you, as well as sharing some tidbits about the songs and the artists. I've shared things I like, things you like, and even a few things I hate. For the experience, it's nice to have stood in the gap while making a way in your corner. Many days were made.

I'm still pinching myself to see if this is real. It most definitely is. Ten years on City-Data. My life with yours, and for the enjoyment of many posters and readers around the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you, a thousand times over, for making my C-D experience a big part of your life and for allowing me to share your computer space. To see if something's worthwhile is always worth a try.

Here's to the next ten years....

That time already?? Wow. Congratulations for so many great years. You've been in a lot of people's corners through these Music forums and the blogs. Just a constant computer companion, if there were such a thing.

    Time flies.
