If ever a post needed blogging vs. reply, here it is.

Will only remark thus: Since I like it (here) and there are rules (here) my choice is...to stay. In generalities:

One post wonders are annoying to me. Tough luck for me.

Every group of vast numbers of individuals will attract the disturbed. We all knows this, being on the Internet and probably in other venues too. Some are more naturally diplomatic than others, a few unhinged. End of story.

I personally report obvious spammers but otherwise just leave if something seems too annoying or contentious. Yes it can be disruptive to interesting topics. Some remarks seem right off the rails to me but are actually just a very different viewpoint due to (fill in reason).

So ends the lesson: communities have cultural norms. They can bend but cannot break.
