Welcome To Case's Column
Let me say a big welcome to all of you for joining me here. I'm going to call these blog meetings Case's Column. I wanted to use "Corner", but that was already taken. Since 2008, it's been a real privilege to come on here and share some of my life with you, and it's a big world where we live.
In these blogs, I'll just speak whatever is on my mind, but we will be playing within the rules here. I may pick a particular topic, point out an event, or shoot the breeze. I'm a little bit of an essayist at times, so I'll just speak what's on my mind, and I might tell a story or two. Or, I might spew out an opinion or three. There will be some serious moments, some tender, some poignant, but there will also be those moments that you'll just bust out laughing. But, hopefully, everything will be in good fun here. And, of course, there's a place below for your comments and thoughts as we go along here. So feel free to join me for the ride -- I sure as heck hope I'm doing this right and not making any mistakes.
Thanks for taking your time in reading Case's Column. Hopefully, you'll enjoy being entertained by it as much as I've enjoyed putting these writings together. And thanks for the time you spend in City-Data.com, where it's great to be alive!
Regards,

Does This Morning's Blood Moon Mean Anything For This Election?
Maybe it's prophetic. Maybe it's coincidental.
This morning, we had a blood moon in our skies in the pre-dawn hours before the most important midterm elections to take place in our lifetimes. Your writer got a glimpse of it as he headed for work early today. Will this phenomenon and its timing be an omen for the events and results of an election?
Gary Franchi expounds on this subject in the video link below:

Time will, indeed, tell if the blood moon was a precursor to a projected red wave across these great United States. Areas which had been blue can potentially change to red as many Republicans, Democrats, independents, and even former Democrats head for the precincts to cast their votes in hopes that a downtrodden, diminished America can make a comeback. Pray for the elections. Pray, especially, for leaders to emerge. Patriot leaders. God-fearing, honest, hard-working, America First leaders.
We will need it to overcome the slimy, hate-filled, contemptuous occupants of the current White House, as well as corrupt governorships, House reps, and Senators. This country craves and deserves leadership. It's largely absent that right now.

Turns out, it's mostly meant nothing.
Now, not all is lost, but Republicans have underperformed in some parts of the country where we needed more House and Senate seats. Florida actually did great by every stretch except for the twerp who took Val Demings' old House seat. Name: Maxwell Frost. Age: all of 25! He's destined to become the newest member of the so-called "Squad", as if we actually needed more termites. Pennsylvania was definitely rigged, but Mehmet Oz didn't exactly bring a lot of enthusiasm to voters, either. Texas remains deep red with important victories at the top, but one stinging loss occurred in the RGV as Mayra Flores got defeated by a few percentage points.
And Arizona and Nevada are still counting votes, all the while we must go through an agonizing wait for Kari Lake, Blake Masters, and Adam Laxalt to achieve much-needed victories so these states can have brighter futures.
So, no red wave or red tsunami as, again, Republicans wasted a golden opportunity to send sorry-arse Joe Biden* a strong message.Posted 11-10-2022 at 04:57 PM by case44
