misery loves company...

A few days ago I listened to a friend upset about how other friends of hers can be so inconsiderate. A few months ago, it was me telling this same friend how those same people had been unfeeling towards me. How can people be so mean and not phase them? It is a cruel world we live in. It has made me thick skinned and I was fine until she mentioned how they were mean to her without even realizing it. I try to be a friend but get the short end of the stick all the time. I just hope my children do better friendwise than I have done so far.

doesnt sound like "true" friends. Ive been down that road before. No reason to keep people in your life that only use you and treat you bad..(same advice I gave my daughter-lol). shes been having the same problems.

Real "true" friends are so hard to come by, cherish the ones you have and keep them as close as you can. I'm moving 2300 miles away from the only 2 real friends I have ever had and I will miss them so very much. Sometimes they are a little ungrateful, but aren't we all in times of need? They are ALWAYS there for a shoulder when I need them. Thank God for cell phones because I will be calling often!

A true friend is a pretty rare thing I think. I remember when I was younger my mom telling me how important it was to choose good friends. I remember thinking that once I got older it would be easier, because we're all more mature, right? What a wake up call. I guess when we find those true gems we should really appreciate them and show it, and then try to be the kind of friend we hope to find in others.

p.s. Funny, I was just thinking of that phrase recently (your title). I don't want to be in that crowd lol.
