Falling in love with your best friend.

Girl meets Boy both are strangers. With common freinds around they've been closer as friends.. till they became as best of friends. On the way enjoying each others company, they both find out they have a perfect friendship untill they have fallen in love with each other.
Sounds they have good foundation of another chapter of a deeper relationship right?
This actually happened to me. Fallen in love with a best friend is difficult. Weighing possibilities whether to take the chance of being lovers or maintaining a perfect friendship. It took me a few months to decide which is better off for both of us.. finally i decided not to take the chance as lovers but instead maintain the perfect friendship... i was thinking we might not work out as lovers.. and if i took the chance i might loose even our friendship.
If you were in this situation which would you choose..

You have to always follow you heart because that is where the truth to your happiness resides. I would caution you to think about one thing to make sure you have no regrets about this decision. When he finds a woman who will be his mate, she will insist that your friendship be discontinued, because she will want to be his best friend herself. The same applies to you. Your mate will not want you to be best friends with another man. So if you keep things the way they are, it sounds like iyou will loose him anyway.

I'm in this situation. I love my best friend, he is whats keeping me from meeting potential relationships...I love him dearly but it's all one-sided. If I had known it was going to hurt this much, I'd rather be dead.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and sharing your experience..
I know it may be or it might not be the right decision i made. I dont want to think the WHAT IF possibilities.. if i do there will be regrets of making my decision.
