Need to find best place for me. TIRED of MOVING
Posted 06-28-2009 at 01:37 PM by claymaster
I would like lots of opinions and their reasons.
I'm a 62 year old lady. Free spirited and a potter. I have lived ALL over this country. Long Island,FL.,AK.,MI, TN, PA, GA, CO, HI,MD,Presently in the mts. of NC., and I may have forgotten one or two. I just moved because I wanted to. Now I'm very sick of moving and I'm trying to find the right place for me to grow roots.
I have taken some tests on line as to what the right place maybe but they never quite hit upon it. The only place that seemed to fit most of my wants is Bend OR. The problem with Bend OR. is there are no jobs there and it is expensive to live there.
So I'm going to lay out my wants and needs hoping someone will find this blog and recommend a place that I will move to and NEVER want to leave.
First off I want LOW or NO humidity, 4 seasons or at least 3,It can't get over 80 I hate the heat and I don't want to be snowed in.I'm not a fan of the desert. OK that takes care of the weather.
I don't have much money at all as a matter of fact I'm treading on thin ice just to get to where I'm going to go. I'd like to own a house some day so real estate can't be expensive, or the cost of living for that matter. I am a potter so I need some culture where people value art and fine crafts.
I don't want to be over come with red necks or places where every other mans name is Bubba.
Some decent shopping around not just big box stores. Don't like real big cities, mid-sized cities are just fine with me. I don't have to live in them but close enough that I don't need to save up to buy gas to go and come from one.
IF ANYONE out there has any ideas for me. PLEASE write. I thank you in advance. Linda

We lived in PA for a long time and find the humidity awful. We retired youngger than most (55) and we are having a great time. Our cousin has had a longing for Arizona due to the low humidity and up and coming areas. We live in SE Florida now but at times the humidity and temp can be a tad high for most.
I would suggest Arizona because there are a ton of extremely nice Bubbas in Florida. We love the Bubbas and rednecks because being a Philadelphia South Floida is a whole lot slower. Nowadays jobs in almost any large or small city are scare regardless or yours or our profession. DC seems to be one of the few cities holding the appreciation in RE......Good luck.Posted 06-28-2009 at 11:03 PM by Synergy1

Talbot County sounds like what you are looking for, except sometimes it is 80 and up, but at least the water is her for the breeze. Property ranges from say 150.000. The is the lower price and they go up. Look at Easton, Wittman, McDaniel. In todays market there are some good buys. Good LuckPosted 06-29-2009 at 10:43 PM by glorybeecosta

You definately need to come to the West Coast. CA, OR, WA. The cost of living varies upon where you live but the market for your crafts is good in all areas.Posted 06-30-2009 at 06:00 AM by yukiko11

To yukiko11 I love the west coast but the cost of living is way out of line for us.
I've been looking into OR. for a long time now and the prices are way out of line.
Unfortunately the only price ranges we have seen that are affordable to us are in the south east. We been in the southeast for a looooooooooooong time and I personally would love to get out of here but we can't afford to live any where else. By the way southeasterners no offense to you I've just had enough.
Hey glorybeecosta what state is Talbot in??????????Posted 10-16-2009 at 08:14 AM by claymaster
