They that can Give Up Essential Liberty to Obtain a Little Temporary Safety Deserve Neither Liberty Nor Safety ~Ben Franklin

Boy is this ever so true. Sad thing is that many people in our society today have forgotten in order to preserve Liberty, it is not by throwing our rights away for "so-called" security.

Our Founding Fathers warned us one day if we let our Republic slip away, standing up for Liberty would once again become Revolutionary, and we would have to fight to get it back again if we did not uphold the Constitution and our Republic.

Long Live the Constitution and hopefully we can restore it one day...

"America the Beautiful, or so you used to be..."

Posted 08-11-2008 at 04:43 PM by Kristynwy
The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama! The judge's poem sums it up quite well, when I first read this poem it brought tears to my eyes. Definitely humbling.

America the beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumpsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is on the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
poisoned by cocaine
choosing to indulge their lusts,
when God has said abstain

From sea to shining sea,
our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
and a need to always pray

We've kept God in our temples,
how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges;
who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer in a
well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
but stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face and mend our evil way:
Then God will hear from Heaven;
and forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
If you don't -then you will see,
A sad but Holy God withdraw His
hand from Thee.

~~Judge Roy Moore~~

    Well, there are those of us who do pray and seek God's will and balance of things here in this land. Where my ancestors came on the pilgrim ship, and i see how things have changed....even in my own family over the generations. but there's a lot of us who care. One or two or three fallen generations, out of them, may come some children who come back to God, as I did.
    But the judge is right, we do have to pray for the society and the government, not our will, but God's be done. Because, sometimes, we mistake our will for His, and then there is a reaction that was not anticipated.

    I agree there are a lot of us who try to be a light within the darkness going on in this country. We are to expect this darkness in the end times. But I try to pray for the salvation of this country and protection for those of us who still try to follow God's will.
    Our founding fathers would be rolling in their graves if they knew how destructive this country has become.
    Through out the course of history empires that do not put God in the center of their reign, have fallen. Our country was meant to be a Republic based on Godly principals, but sadly that is no longer the focus of many high ranking officials and politicians anymore... At the same time we must never give up no matter how bleak it becomes... Thanks for your reply 2bpurrfect
