June 2009 Follow Up

Posted 07-01-2009 at 12:46 PM by Adam DeSilvester
Woah! What did we do to deserve a month from hell like this?!

Although the average monthly temperature was .3 degrees F below June 2008, the average high temperature was .1 degrees F higher than last year's June. 12 triple digit degree days occured this June vs. last year's 5! So it did feel hotter to me than the previous one and June 2009 could have been even warmer if it had not been for the first week of the month which had brought more moderated temperatures carrying over from the second half of may after the storms.

Rainfall was way below normal with only .45 of an inch! This does not look good for the drought, I am getting a little worried myself to see what July and August bring.

We will have to see, stay tuned for any updates and feel free to leave any questions, comments, or suggestions!

You all be good and I'll look forward to future posts!
