My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

One of the really nice benefits of blogging at city-data!

Posted 07-16-2009 at 12:14 PM by carlos123

You know...I've been thinking that while I would still like to some day start an independently hosted blog (I hear the song "Someday over the rainbow..." in the background of my mind somewhere) that there are some distinct advantages to continuing to blog here.

The biggest one being this...

If I should have an independently hosted blog and should end up dying (while in the middle of writing my best blog post of course)...my blog posts will all but disappear once my hosting account becomes overdue and I can't be found to pay it anymore.

But here on city-data...well, my blog posts will remain indefinitely for all the world to read and enjoy for as long as city-data remains on the internet (which is likely to be a very, very long time).

In fact I daresay that if I never post here again that my existing posts will continue to accumulate readers from off the search engines if from nowhere else.

If one looks at my earlier blog posts a pattern of increased readership is quite evident. The older the post the more readers it gets.

So...in regard to blogging at city-data...the biggest single benefit I see is that ones posts will live on in infamy (I don't know what that means exactly but it sounds nice...something Roosevelt said...the FDR Roosevelt I mean not Teddy).

I don't think city-data would be too keen about adding this as a benefit when trying to promote blogging here (if they do that) but I can see it now...

Yes...you too can express yourself even after your death by blogging at city-data!

Hmm...that doesn't sound right. Oh well.

I'm still alive so I guess it's a mute point but still, sometimes I ponder such things. It's nice to know that my pearls of wisdom such as they may be, will outlast me here. It's probably the only thing that will outlast my death in this life which is comforting in that something will.

Mind you I won't care too much one minute after I die as I will be high fiving all the angels and running around yelling and screaming a "Glory to God!" all over the place in heaven. Earth? What's that?

Carlos

While I know members are not allowed to have a signature, I see no wrong in copy/paste the last paragraph in every few other blog entries. I think it would be rather too overbearing after awhile in every single posts. Just my thoughts.

Hey...thanks for your input again 2goldens! Glad to hear that you think it's okay.

I may stop using my "signature" regardless of whether it's too overbearing or not as it is an absolute pain to first open it up for editing it (so that I can copy it into the clipboard) and then paste it in. I'll see how it goes. Maybe I will not notice the pain that it is at some point and will get used to it.

    hey,I come again.
I have read your "GOD HELP ME" this morning, when I first saw the title ,I was worry about your health.I thought maybe the high temperature made you uncomfortable .I thought too much LOL .
I bless you with a good health. well,I don't think money is more important than your health. In China, there is an old saying "Health is the asset of revolution" so,please take good care of youself.

In this blog entry,I think your idea is very interesting ~
when I read it ,I keep smile.
And I am reminded of the article "how to deal with our QQ numbers when we drop off"which makes me laugh some times.

Hi again haller32! Great to see that my blog posts have not driven you away .

Sometimes I wonder about some of the things I say...myself LOL.

Yeah the blog topic "God Help Us" was not one of my most well thought out one's.

You know it's really something but the Lord has sorrounded me with incredible friends here in San Diego as with a shield. I have two friends that would drop what they were doing, if they could, in a heartbeat to come help me if I needed a ride or otherwise was in real and immediate need (I just got through being taken out to breakfast by one of them). As I would for them.

I feel so incredibly blessed. Truly. I am right where God would have me be in my life and in my circumstances.

In His own good and perfect timing and ways...I truly believe that His perfect will for me will be realized as I continue to seek Him with a heart to do His will.

While the world continues to fall apart around us.

Apart from relationship with God through Jesus Christ I would get very depressed I think and be filled with anxiety with every reading of the news.
