For My Mom.." Our Story"

Posted 08-20-2008 at 05:14 PM by Summering

Take a moment of time....... and think about it.
Was it what you thought it would be?
Was there a silent night? Were birds in flight?
Had the boats headed out to sea?
Did you look at the sky, as the clouds drifted by?
Did you stare at the ocean and cry?
On one windy day....you were taken away......
without notice, nor mention.......God why?

As we walked on the sand.....and the chill
slightly came. Did you know it would be our
last day?
If only I knew ......I'd of been more to you.....
There is so much I had left to say.
Did God says its time? Did you ask him why?
Or was it written in the sand?
Was there only one footprint as he carried you
away.......was he holding your loving hand?

You taught me that our life is short. It can end
at any time. .............To appreciate the little things.....
and not make life a grind.

If I could have one wish today.....I'd take a moment
like this................
To imprint this image of time and place.
To see your eyes, and careing face.

When clouds drift by....I will try not to cry...
as the ocean goes racing away......
For I lost you one night.....when the stars
shone so bright, with a "sliver of moon" ......
so "you say".......

Its moments like this.......that I truely miss....
A moment in a space and glory.
That I walk on the sand......trying to hold you
hand....and remember that .....its now just
" Our Story."

( For My MOM who spent her last day on earth, on the beach, with me.............)

Thank you Emeraldsky, Aiangelwriter and Blue.........
We only get one Mom, and one chance to get it right........I hope I did ok.
God gave me the gift of having her with me on vacation at the beach for one entire month.
That time was the most valuable in my life.
We had a joyous time, we did everything with laughter and fun............It was unexpected, sudden.
But, she loved, loved, the ocean........What a blessing God let her be there and with us. It is some comfort.....

when you think of it,it's a series of moments
and memories we save...time just keeps on going by so we just have to make the best of it

I read this and it touched my heart ... for whatever reason I read this today ... I don't know why ... but I was thinking of my own beloved parents who I lost many years ago ... and the beauty of this brought tears to my eyes ... you are such a loving caring person ... I know the pain of losing your parents ... it's not something that you ever really get over ... you only get used to them not being there ... time is a precious gift and more often than not we don't take advantage of it. I'm happy for you that you did not waste the opportunity to make memories.
