Tomorrow at 1600 one of my oldest friends is getting married. I've known her my since she was born when I was 5 months old. She and her groom have been dating for 10 years, since we were all in high school.

It is exciting for me to think that she is finally getting married. She is excited, and it is awesome that the Lord has allowed me to be here for all the festivities. She and I have celebrated so much together.

I know that I was stressing about the trip out here, and that I didn't totally want to come. And I think that I would have survived NOT coming, but I know that now that I'm here it is a good thing.

I have so few people that I keep in contact with from my childhood, so those few that I do, it is important that we are here for each other, for the exciting times like marriages, births and birthdays. It is also important to come out for the hard times:divorce, death, etc.

Friendship is a precious gift that we give to each other. I know that I value my friends immensely and I hope that they reciprocate those feelings. We are created for connections and relationships. I am reminded of just how important it is to guard, treasure and experience the fullness of all the relationships we have.
