After I lost my job there was this one place that was going to hire me off the bat. They took a while getting though all the red tape and I found a job elsewhere. The pay was way less then my last job, but I figured if I am careful it would be doable. Week one they gave me like 40 hours. Since I don't have insurance and my hourly is less my bring home was only about $50 less. Yes half my money at my old job was going to taxes and insurance. Anyways the second week on the job I got a whopping 16 hours, not good.
I am a grown woman with a lot of bills, 16 hours a week and a substantial pay cut just won't cut it. Last time I worked 16 hours a week was in high school. The first place I was supposed to get a job at extended another offer. Not only that but they offered more money than the job I lost. When I first spoke with them they were unsure about matching my old salary. I do have the experience to back up the pay, but a lot of getting the job had more to do with who I know. My best friends mom works there, as well as an old boss of mine, and a friend of mine. This time I will officially be a supervisor. My last job made me take on all the supervisor responsibilities, but would not give me the title or the pay.
Things are going good.
Now I just have to get back to college and finish that up because I really am near that point where I need a degree. There is only so much money you can make with out one.
