My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

The Lord provides me with a great meal and $20 cash!

Enough to eat for a whole week...possibly even two! Praise God!

I went to the home church I go to this morning and afterwards a number of us went out to lunch. I did not have money to do that and let my ride know and they said they knew that but that they were going to pay for my lunch.

I certainly wasn't going to force their hand to give me a ride back home just because they wanted to pay for lunch! So I accepted their gracious offer and went.

After a delicious and wonderful meal together at quite the fancy restaurant the person giving me a ride decided to share half the earnings of the day before with me. $20!

At first I thought they were giving me the $20 so that I could pay for my part of the meal while saving face type of thing but when I tried to put it into the middle of the table to pitch in for the meal...they told me not to. That it was mine. That I wasn't supposed to even leave a tip.

This morning I had been wondering how I was going to last on $7.

The Lord knew! He always does!

Thank you Lord!

Now I can focus on my work for my new landlord and other internet work without the distraction of wondering how long I will be able to survive on just bread and water LOL.

Carlos

PS. As usual I did not ask to be taken to lunch, did not let on in the slightest that I was a bit hungry this morning (not having had time to eat my usual bread breakfast slices) and otherwise go around asking Christians to please help me out. The Lord knew and provided for me through one of His servants who was obedient to His voice!

I did share that I had about $7 to my name at the meeting but in the context of sharing about God's incredible provision for me. All the more incredible in view of how little I had. But the little that I had was not the focus of my sharing. Rather it was the incredible timing and graciousness of God to meet my need.

It was God and God alone who moved on the heart of my ride to not only buy me the lunch so that I could hang out with everyone but to also give me $20 cash to boot!

I made it known to him afterwards that I did not want him to feel the burden of having to pay for me until I get on my own two feet and that in view of that...I wanted it to be completely up to him whether to pick me up in the future but he was insistant that he wanted me to come to the home church and that he had no problem with picking me up.

So what was I supposed to do? Say no...you can't buy me anything else and I won't come to the home group church anymore because I don't have much money?? That would have been just downright silly.

    Hi Carlos,
My name is Karen thankyou I really was heartbroken to hear your story. You reminded me ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH GOD. My husband is divorcing me due to money, greed, and keeping "his savings". He left me with 2 children and took all our funds. But your story makes me realized how blessed we are. I am sorry things are bad for you. If I could I would help but I will pray for you and your situation. God Bless you and keep going to that group church, that is why God set up his people to gather together to worship him. Thank you. Karen

    Hi Karen,

Thanks for your encouragement. My situation is really not bad Karen so please do not be concerned on my account. I have money in my pocket, food in my belly, a large house I now live in, a landlord who is very pleased with my work for him, good friends, and most of all the Lord. So I feel quite blessed.

The house I live in is large and quiet. The neighborhood is very quiet. It's like I am out in the boonies somewhere away from the bustle of everyday life in the city. Just the way I like it. Yet down the street are some stores where I can get food and otherwise.

In many respects it's an ideal situation.

I am so very, very sorry to hear of your situation Karen. I hate it when guys pull the kind of shenanigens that your husband is pulling. God hates divorce. Your husband will have to answer to Him for that and I would not want to be in his shoes when He stands before God.

If your husband is unwilling to continue being married to you and to divorce you for the reasons you indicate I would say that there is a very real possibility that he may not even be a Christian at all Karen. Rather he may be just another run of the mill religious person who goes to church on Sundays and who does not in fact love the Lord or live for Him.

There are a ton of such religious folks all over the place in North America.

Hang on to God Karen. He is there for you as He has been here for me. Read the Word. Pour out your heart before Him and listen to Him not to all those around you who might dissuade you or discourage you from having faith in Him to provide for you.

I am no one special Karen. If He has and continues to provide for me He can do the same for you and your children. He is no respecter of persons and is as willing to provide for you as He has been to provide for me.
