My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

I meet two homeless people in the area where I live!

Posted 09-13-2009 at 11:13 PM by carlos123

Today, during a wonderful church picnic, I met two homeless individuals in the area where I live.

One sleeps during the day and then reads and writes at night. Some of his writing has actually been published!

The other one lives in his RV.

Both were great people to get to know.

The first one gave me the scoop on surviving in the area and opened my eyes to realize that even here, in one of the richest areas sorrounding San Diego, a homeless person can still survive and survive reasonably well.

The other one, who lives in his RV, did not even look homeless. I had no clue he was until he told me.

The one who lived in his RV was instrumental in inviting the first homeless guy to come eat with the rest of the Christians we were with.

Me and the RV fellow had been playing a game of roll some balls toward another little ball to see who could get closer (I think it's called schmazee or something LOL) when the RV fellow spied the homeless grass fellow and invited him over.

Goes to show that God doesn't care if you live in your RV (or sleep on the grass for that matter). He will use anyone who is willing to be used and is looking to Him.

You know homeless folks like the two I met today continually give me hope. That God can still love a miserable wretch like me.

A miserable wretch who is nothing before Him but who is loved greatly by the same God who loves the two homeless guys I met today.

I continue to be quite pleased with the area in general and look forward to hiking up into the sorrounding mountains and parks if my knees continue to improve to the point where I can go on longer and longer walks.
