My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego | List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post . Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.

I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.

Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.

Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).

And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me )...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!

Thanks.

Carlos

The Lord reminds me of the best way to thank Him.

Tonight as the sun was setting I took my daily walk around the block and felt so incredibly blessed.

The sun was setting behind the horizon, the outline of the mountains was visible. The air was warm but comfortably so. I could see the lights of what seemed like San Diego off in the distance.

People were out walking in the neighborhood, watering their bushes by hand. Friendly folks who all were either responsive to my hi or who said hi to me.

No hoodies around here. No crime to speak of. Just friendly, long term residents of the hill top I live on and a beautiful sunset.

On getting home I had a delicious popsicle treat and had a nice chat with my landlord about what we are trying to do building an Adsense empire together (at least initially).

It doesn't get much better than this folks!

And I was understandably thankful for my good blessing. As I told the Lord that He reminded me that the best way to show my gratitude was to lay down my life for Him allowing Him to make of me what He wills.

Quote:
Romans 12:1
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
I was also reminded of how hard it is for the rich in this world to enter the Kingdom of heaven.

For the rich, among whom I now live, have so much more to give up in this life than the poor do that the things they have become a stranglehold in their life to entering into a life of faith.

Quote:
Luke 18:24
And Jesus ... said, "How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
How true that is and how ironic that many of those who I live among will end up in an eternal hell far from the Presence of the Lord and from His glorious majesty because they hung on to what they had in this life as if that was all their was to life.

How doubly blessed I am! Not only to live comfortably at this point in time but to also have had the benefit of coming to know God in less favorable circumstances first. An intimacy with God that will protect me I think from falling into the same pit of deception that can so grip the rich who put their confidence in their riches and not in God.
