My Daily Life and Thoughts while in San Diego |
List of Best Posts
This blog is where I express myself to the world or at least to those who might stop by to read what I post
. Maybe God will use what I post (I am a Christian and this blog will have a most decidedly Christian bent to it) to good effect in the lives of my readers.
I may turn some of my posts into a book. I may cease blogging here altogether. Who knows. But for now..I am content to post away in this, my own little corner of the world.
Rather than reading through my now lengthy list of posts you may wish to read what I consider to be my very best posts or you can just read the posts that deal with a single subject category that might interest you.
Please know that I am open to any input on any topic I write about. If you have something to say about anything you see written here please....feel free to speak up in the form of leaving a comment or sending me a PM (private message).
And if you are in San Diego and wish to meet the one and only Carlos (that's me
)...drop me a private message. I always enjoy meeting one of my readers!
Thanks.
Carlos
PS. If you want to follow my blog such that you will get an email when I write new posts you can subscribe to my blog.

U.S. moving more and more toward being a totalitarian State!

I wasn't going to post about this but after reading yet another news story that indicates that the general direction of the U.S. is one of moving toward being a totalitarian State I wanted to express myself. And where better to do that than on my blog.
Some of you may not like what I am about to say but...that's just the way it is. I value you my reader, very much so but, I don't write this blog to win any popularity contest.
The first news article I want to comment on can be found here -> http://www.newsday.com/long-island/m...242?print=true
In short health care workers in New York State MUST get the H1N1 (otherwise known as Swine Flu) vaccine or they will get fired.
That makes me angry.
As I have previously blogged about here I personally would not get the Swine Flu vaccine if you paid me to get it! There are some dangerous elements in that vaccine that could cause some persons who get vaccinated with it to end up with a neurological disorder that will ruin their life! The Swine Flue while dangerous is not as dangerous as news stories tend to portray it as being. Yes...some die from it but in the majority of cases those who die have underlying health conditions that make it tougher for their body's natural defenses to kick in or do well against this new virus.
Not all cases are like that mind you but compared to the risk of becoming permanently damaged by a neurological disorder that is devastating I will take my chances any day with the Swine Flu!
That's just me but this State regulation takes away that choice!!
You either get it (if you are a health care worker) or you get fired! And the 5 companies that produce the Swine Flu vaccine have been given immunity from lawsuits and prosecution!
Absolutely insane!!
Then there is this one....

In this one a grandmother buying cold medicine for her husband than then her daughter was arrested and charged and will likely end up with a hefty fine if not several months in prison! That's for buying cold medicine folks!!!!!
A law was passed to try and curtail the spread of meth labs churning out methamphetamine, a street drug made from ingredients that can be found in these cold medicines such that anyone buying more than 1 such medication in a 7 day period breaks the law!
That too is insane!!
Sorry but a society should not make laws to protect itself from those who do evil that make criminals of law abiding citizens!!!!
That is ungodly and just wrong! That is caving in to the belief that the State is our Saviour. That it can save us from all evil through the passing of more and more laws designed to protect us from ourselves.
Never mind personal responsibility! Never mind punishing those who do actual evil! No...we are just going to pass a law that will catch the evildoers en masse. If a few law abiding citizens get caught in the wide net of the law...well...that's just too bad!!
Insane!
As a society we pass laws that punish the innocent while the guilty just ignore the law and find some other way to do what they do.
Do we honestly believe that passing such laws is going to protect us from drug dealers?
If such did we would have solved our drug problems many years ago and many laws back. But we haven't.
The nation's drug problem is as bad as ever if not worse. Laws and more laws have not solved the problem in the least. If anything they have filled our jails even more only this time with a smattering of otherwise innocent persons thrown in for good measure under the mistaken and ridiculous notion that all we need to solve the evils in our society is just another law!!
I could have also commented on yet one more story I read about this morning where the health record of every man, woman, and child in the U.S. must now, under penalty of law, be entered into a public database but I think I will leave it at that.
The U.S. is being overrun by laws for this and laws for that and we have either lost our freedoms already and just don't know it or we are approaching a day when we will have been boiled like the proverbial lobster in a vat of boiling regulations that will choke the life out of us. Slowly so as to almost be imperceptible but with a certain loss of life, liberty, and all that we have considered great.
Wikipedia defines totalitarianism as ...
I do not believe the U.S. will become another Russia under Lenin or Germany under Hitler...at least I hope not but I think based on the above definition that the U.S. (federal and local) Governments are most definitely moving in a totalitarian direction. A direction which is decidedly not good.
I for one will continue to leave my options open. I will continue to focus on making a living over the Internet. So that I can get out in time to avoid the worst if the need arises to do so.
I am blessed to have that option as a very real possibility for myself. I feel sorry and bad for those of my fellow Americans who do not have the option to move very easily if at all.
I will not abandon the U.S. unless things get really bad but at the rate things are going it won't be long before the U.S. is stripped of the core values that once made the U.S. such a great country. A country that valued freedom and liberty and justice for all. Where each was free to pursue life and the pursuit of happiness as long as it did not interfere with the same right of others to do the same.
A country where we were free from excessive government intrusion into our everyday lives.
A country where persons where held responsible for their own wrongdoing and where the State was not looked upon as our Saviour. To save us from all our ills.
The country that was the U.S. of many years ago is long gone and will never return. Sad but true I think.
