Realistic or depressing?

I'm 44 years old (45 in October!
), and all of a sudden it seems like I'm experiencing more aches and pains. Nothing serious or life-threatening, but annoying. They're just twinges here and there, like background noise right now.
You know how you start hearing those weird squeaks and rattles in your car as it starts to get older? And then the engine starts sounding funny, and you soon realize it's time for a new car? Well, I'm starting to feel that way about my body.
Unfortunately, I don't know of a method of trading myself in for a newer model!
Aging is definitely better than the alternative, though.
Where did this observation come from? I have a tooth that's going to cost me well over $1,000 when I'm done, and that's with dental insurance! But that's a blog for another day.

Sandy, I think that what your experiencing is what many experience in life especially when they hit there 40's.
Take the good with the bad.

We're not getting older, just more experienced and it's our bodies way of showing the experience.Posted 07-06-2008 at 11:36 AM by njmike

You know the funny thing about aging is how relative it is. I'm not quite 40 yet, real close, but I know people that dream of being 40ish again.
LOL. It really is perspective.Posted 07-18-2008 at 08:05 PM by Chowhound
