City-Data Forum Declares War on Trollville

The peaceful calm of Trollville was suddenly rocked by “Shock and Awe” early Monday morning as City-Data Forum unleashed a mighty bevy of infractions and banishments to the general population of Trollville.

The military buildup of sleuth-like moderators has been clearly noticeable in recent weeks and many cited it as only a matter of time before the attack was imminent. Leaked intelligence reports leading up to the event provided the public with knowledge that spies working for City-Data were using a triangular sign to send detailed reports of various troll activities. It’s widely believed these reports, given in multitude on a daily basis, were of utmost importance in the planning and plotting of the decimation of Trollville.

The early morning attack has left some members of City-Data wondering if such brute force was necessary while others applaud the efforts. It’s not yet clear how many trolls were eradicated but some initial estimates are in the thousands. As with any battle, the loss of participants will surely include some innocent bystanders caught in the midst of the fiery bombardments. However, the chief military strategist for City-Data forum explained the necessity behind the operation.

“Trollville has been building its forces for quite some time. They’ve been carrying out attacks on our forum for far too long. One day you hear of a drive-by posting, the next time it’s a personal attack. Sometimes, a perfectly innocent thread can turn into a fiery explosion of rancorous tumult and confusion. The trolls have been responsible for almost every part of it and we’ve finally decided to take a stand against it once and for all.”

One person, a mere tourist visiting Trollville, was cited as saying, “I spent many months on City-Data forum. I contributed with hundreds upon thousands of posts. One misplaced infraction and the next thing I knew my entire posting history was wiped out. Just like that… My life is in ruins and I’m in shambles. I guess I’ll just have to pick up the pieces and move on.”

Another citizen of Trollville spoke out against the horrific nightmare he woke up to. “It was utter chaos! Infractions were flying left and right. I watched my best friend of three years get banished right before my eyes! The next things I knew, I was on a Barbie Doll forum talking about how Ken was going to get down and dirty with Barbie. It took me by complete surprise.”

Others in Trollville are claiming that war means war and if ever there were a sign of war this was it. Some are threatening to create multiple accounts in order to swarm and overload the defense system of City-Data forum. Their sheer numbers do pose a threat but some crafty moderators have already begun the second phase of the attack including banning IP addresses. It’s unknown precisely how many IP’s stand to be banned but once again the estimates are in the thousands. Other reports are indicating another attack may take take place on Spamland but those reports are currently unconfirmed.
