'Cool' Emoticon Is Actually Blind

City-Data Forum users were shocked and dismayed this morning to hear that the 'Cool' emoticon was not just wearing his sunglasses all the time in order to make a fashion statement but because he is actually blind.
Mr. Cool's sunglasses have been somewhat of a hit over the forum in recent years and many people have gone out to purchase the same kind of sunglasses in order to mimic his conceived "coolness." This has led some users to have differing opinions on Mr. Cool.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, some users feel a little cheated. One poster had this to say, "I went out and bought the same sunglasses Tom Cruise wore in Top Gun because that's what Mr. Cool was wearing on the forum. We all thought it was a fashion statement and because of his popularity I wanted to be just like him. Now that I've found out he's blind, I feel a little bit cheated. Everyone knows blind people aren't cool and I just wish he'd have let everyone know."
Others feel his fashion statement makes him all the more cooler despite his handicap and cite other famous blind people as their cause for support. Another poster was quoted as saying, "Look at Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder. Those guys are super cool and they wear sunglasses inside and outside nearly all the time. I think it's a great thing and something we shouldn't be ashamed about mimicking."
Mr. Cool was somewhat flattered over the attention he'd recently gotten and described his experience as such, "People always thought I was driving my car at night with sunglasses on in order to make a fashion statement. Nobody ever thought to connect the dots that I was actually blind. I'm somewhat flattered to think my handicap has promoted people to think of it as something 'cool.'"
It remains to be seen how the rest of the forum will react upon hearing this news but it's safe to say that it won't be long before everyone hears that Mr. Cool is not just making a fashion statement but is blind.

I've been doing investigative reporting on the forum for a long time. It's taken me quite some time to gather some of this information and I'm happy to share it with everyone!
