We, the people...

Posted 01-20-2010 at 10:52 AM by strojjj

of the United States put our trust in Mr. Obama. Overcoming racial predujices, we the people elected the first black president in the history of the country. We were red, black, white, yellow, brown and every color in between.

As a black American, I would be extremely angry. As any other American, I would be almost as angry. Instead of Mr. Obama, making the black community proud, and all other communities for that matter, he has disgraced and embarassed us all.

We trusted him to be truthful. All he has done is lie to us.

We trusted him to follow the American dream. Instead he has followed the socialist, communists dreams.

We trusted him to stand for what America is and to be proud of this great nation. All he has done is put us down and kiss the feet of our enemies.

We trusted him to right the wrongs in DC. All he has done is fill our top government positions with tax cheats, socialists, and criminals.

We trusted him to guide our great nation through good times and bad. All he has done is plow our private sector and economy into the ground, with no leader ship at all.

Mr. Obama, it is past time for you to step down. We, the people do not want the bill of America hating, socialist bill of goods you are pedaling.

While I feel President Obama has probably not accomplished what he set out to do - I am struck by the vitriolic opposition to everything he has TRIED to do, tried to improve, tried to correct. I have never seen such an earnest effort in all my years and all the presidents I've lived through to completely destroy someone...

I did not vote for him - I voted for Hillary Clinton but in my heart I knew that neither of them would have an honest chance to turn this country around. The majority Republicans, the "tea baggers" and heaven help us, the religious right are simply going to bury this country one way or the other.

As for President Obama leaning to "communist/Socialist" governing of the country, I fear you don't have a clue ( as many here don't) what you are saying. Communism isn't real popular much of anywhere these days.. it is an old , outdated concept and only the desperate use it these days to govern and not very well when you think of it.

"Socialism" ( at least the kind I have experienced first hand), has some merit in many countries the areas of health, medicine, and education. These are the tools that countries grow and thrive on. I have seen them at work and I know for a fact that with the proper support and infra-structure, they do work!

Ask any European who complains bitterly about the tax structure that makes all this possible if they want to adopt the US way of handling health and education and you will get a resounding NO!

Oh yes, my friend, you pay for what you get. There is a price. In other countries the poor are not quite so poor and the uneducated have choices and ALL receive the health care that makes it possible for them to work and thrive. The "Government here in the USA will control your Freedoms" through DENIAL of universal health care and education for all.

How that isn't clear to even the most ignorant among us is a mystery to me. Other countries caught on a hundred years ago...but we are a "Baron and Slave" society - Scrooge put it well when he said "let the poor die, less mouths to feed and keep the work houses full. Decrease the surplus population!" Is this what we have become, a nation of Scrooges?

I have never seen so much undisguised hatred for those that have less, for the poor and for those who don't have the tools to help themselves - as for the "working poor" - this is a death warrant for them.. they are scraping by without any dignity or support in the form of a reasonable way to stay healthy and get better positions.

The economy is what it is for these people because of the super rich - who are, amazingly, still super rich, and while I don't deny earned money to ANYONE, I do think it is obscene that the burden of looking after all these folk still falls on the middle class. I have noticed in the last few years a huge upsurge in violence, depression and helplessness among even the middle classes... and I am reminded of thousands of hard learned history lessons of nations that forgot the people and left them behind to fend for themselves - they ALL fell.

If you think we are above that eventuality, think again. It may not be in our lifetime - but it will come. "Embarrassed by your president" indeed - you should be embarrassed by you are the others who hung him out to dry instead of helping him!
