Northern, VA to Atlanta, GA- GMU vs Clark Atlanta University

Posted 03-25-2010 at 01:46 PM by ESSENCE0405

i'm having an issue. i live in richmond, VA and i'm 24. i have a son who just turned 4. he just started tee-ball and will be starting school soon. i want to move to another place to continue my studies. either northern VA or Atlanta ga (i used to live there and i attended clark atlanta university for a year) i just got a degree from ITT Tech in computer drafting and design, yet the market doesn't seem to need my skills in richmond. i've always planned to go back to get my BS but the reality is, if the market was looking for ppl like me, i would put obtaining my BS off for a while. I dont think its going to change and i want to get things in order NOW before it gets too late (applying to school as a transfer student). i'm wondering what the area is like at GMU lol. or whether i should go back to Atlanta, but i'm afraid because i'm a mommy now. i have to make choices that will benefit my son as well.

I really don't want to stay in Richmond anymore but even VCU is a great school.

can someone please tell me the pros and cons of living in these too areas? how is the job market? is it clean? or should i just stay in richmond? i know ppl there and in atlanta. the only thing that would be different for me if i moved is i will have to think for my son as well. where would you go between northern, VA and Atlanta, GA? Please help
