Moving to California for Culinary School

I am 18 graduating from The School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am moving to California for culinary school. After culinary school I wish to go into the film writing industry which I've been studying for the last 7 years of my life in art school. I've been accepted into The Art Institute of California- Orange County and The Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. I'm split between the two. CIA seems to be the obvious decision being that it's known as the best culinary school but its in the middle of rural area and food is all I will know for two years. I don't know what else to expect from Napa Valley, CA I've never been there. From pictures, videos and reading I get that it's an old agricultural place that attracts a lot of old rich people. Sounds boring to me. Whereas southern California is a younger and more social scene. I've been to LA once and it was pretty cool. I thought it was a little over rated but cool. In the end both are expensive places to live. I want to get the best education for my money and I want to have a good social experience and life experience. I would like to go to culinary school and get my hands into the film industry at the same time but I don't want to sacrifice a good education for a lack of patience. Any advice from anyone in California?
