Moving to ??????

I am a 57 yr female who is getting divorced & sell our home next year. I live in Rhode Island and have wanted to move for a long time. I have two dogs & one cat. Kits are grown and on their own. I have just been approved for ssdi so i will be on a fixed income.
I am looking to move sometime next year but am confused as to where to go.
I would like to live near the mountains but am open to suggestions. A nice ranch with 2-3 beds, 1-2 baths, laundry room, fenced yard for the dogs. At least 1/2 acre land. This will be my last home (hopefully) so I would like to live in the vicenity of hospitals/clincs, shopping - grocery, clothes, etc. Vet's, grooming for my pets.
Sort of country, sort of small town. I was thinking NC, SC Or KY. Are there any suggestions at all. I don't know where to live?:confused:
