What does 'reputation' mean on this web site?

Never could figure that one out

and

what does it mean "quick reputation by
non-member"?????

    do not deserve a 'reputation' of any kind...

    Yup, it's right here - FAQ - REPUTATION POINTS

    When you admire a written post and want to compliment someone, then give the poster a rep point with a comment. To give a comment, click on the scale icon on the right side of the post.

    Oh, my goodness.. there it is.. and I never
    knew any of this about scales and points
    and comments, etc. Interesting.. Now I
    will have to go compliment somebody
    about something!!!

    If anyone reading here lives in Salem/Keizer
    Oregon area, I plan to put a link to a cat
    rescue called Ragdolls Rescue NW, where
    there are some wonderful cats fostered
    and needing excellent/loving homes; adoption
    fees are reasonable .. it is a no-kill organization.

    Navigating the site is a bit tricky but worth the
    effort.
