Don't Tell Me You Are So Busy...

Posted 05-23-2016 at 04:54 PM by peebola

...it grates on my nerves.

On all 7 interviews that I have went on in the past 2 months, I was told by the person(s) who interviewed me that they are so busy and have so many resumes to go through.

To be honest...I don't care how busy they are. Not my problem. Really, if you are an interviewer and you tell a potential job candidate at the interview that you don't "have the time to wade through 50 resumes, and interview 5 people, even though you need someone tomorrow, but then you never call back the 5 people you interviewed to let them know their status" then perhaps YOU (the interviewer) need to get another job.

You suck at your job Mr/Mrs Interviewer.

You suck at time management.

You suck at proper business etiquette.

You suck all around.

I hate/loathe when interviewers tell me the sob story of the overwhelming amount of resumes they received for the job, how many people they have to call in for interviews (which wastes their time), and how they can never say when they plan on finally making a decision on who will get the job.

To say you are so damn busy Mr/Mrs Interviewer doesn't make you look good in my book, it makes you look like you are not capable of doing your job in a timely and efficient manner.

Just my opinion.

I had a phone interview today where the fella told me had 400 emails he couldn't get through. I told him he needs to automate the process.

    I don't think I'm getting that job.

LOL! Anyone who lets their email box fill up with 400 emails (even if they are just resumes) is a slow, slow, slow, slow worker. You should have told him to hire you and you will solve his email problem with your awesome organizational skills. I would have.

Don't tell me how to do my job! Are you telling me how to do my job? Don't tell me how to do my job!

That's the answers I get, which is weird because they are the ones who brought up the "problem," and I'm offering a solution. People don't want solutions, they just want to whine about how busy they are, which apparently to them is not a problem but shows what a "great person" they are.
